Barclays Bank

38 Market St, Crewe CW1 2ET, UK – 0345 734 5345

Always very helpful and professional.

I don't visit my local branch of Barclays Bank in Crewe very often, but in the occasional time that I have, I have always found the staff & service to be excellent. I love how the newly refurbished branch looks, it's a lot more modern & welcoming & I've never had any problems at any visit & it's in a convenient location in the town centre.

The Co-op Bank

3 Earle St, Crewe CW1 2BS, UK – 01270 212920

Suddenly... the cash machine began to glow. It was outside... and the sun shone down from the sky. This doesn't always happen in England! The staff are very friendly and efficient in this pod of coop's earth.

It's an ATM machine for goodness sake.

Building Societies

Recently went in to open my son a bank account. Met by a very nice chap on the front desk who greeted us and offered us a drink whilst we waited. We were seen quickly and the advisor took the time to explain everything to my son. As a company I like Nationwide due to its mutual status and the way it views customers. Overall, recommended. Crewe branch.

Staff are lovely and very helpful

Grosvenor Medical Centre

Grosvenor St, Crewe CW1 3HB, UK – 01270 256348

Getting an appointment has never been a problem to me because I always go to the surgery for 8:15 am. and join the short appointments queue. Each time I have done that I have been given an appointment for 08:50 or sooner, on the same day! Walk-in patients appear to be given priority over telephone patients to avoid booking conflicts with telephone applicants which is achieved by simply not answering the phone. This seems to happen at most surgeries and is becoming accepted as standard practice. For a fully retired person like myself this walk-in system is ideal, however it might not suit someone with a job who did not want to risk taking time off to queue up and then be told that, "No appointment slots are available this morning". The likelihood of this happening however, will be remote. Yesterday for example I arrived at 8:15, saw the nurse at 8:50 had an ECG at 9:10, had a doctor's opinion at 9:30, medication at 9:40 and a follow up appointment for 8:30am two days later for another ECG and ongoing treatment if necessary. Excellent service I would say!

Hungerford Medical Centre

School Cres, Crewe CW1 5HA, UK – 01270 275949

The line is always busy and difficult to get hold of anyone. The doctors are generally good, but receptionists can be quite rude over the phone

As a student I am able to get appointments around lectures, letters for university where necessary and advice as well. Wait times could be improved especially when you have an appointment. One of the ladies at reception told me I cannot come if I do not have a telephone number 🙃 I provided an email but I needed to get a phone number before I could have started using the service. Other than that it's been great.

Haslington Surgery

Crewe Rd, Haslington, Crewe CW1 5QY, UK – 01270 275900

Wonderful surgery. I've been coming here since I was a baby, and even now as an adult I never struggle to get an appointment. The GP's are all very friendly and helpful.

I have been with this surgery since we moved to Haslington in the 1990's and have always had a good service. Some of the receptionists over the years have been a bit like mini Hitlers in their attitude but the current ones are ok.It is a very busy practice and now Dr. King has retired, there is one less GP.

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.

Excellent care

Leighton Hospital

Middlewich Rd, Crewe CW1 4QJ, UK – 01270 255141

I can only speak of the labour and maternity wards and both the staff and level of care were excellent. In many of the poor reviews I think the reviewers seem to think they have a better grasp of medicine than the doctor's do... The level of compassion and care given by the midwives, community support staff and care assistants is beyond anything we expected. Be reassured you are in good, no, exceptional hands.

Surprising to see only 60 odd reviews for such a big part of Crewe. I have only been here a handful of times, and was treated great every time. They seem to treat everyone equally, and everyone is very professional which makes some embarrassing things a bit easier to discuss. A&E on a Saturday morning was.. not fast, but it's public and free healthcare. I have no issues with the speed of anything. I was dumb enough to injure myself, I can't expect to be in & out in 5 minutes. For what it is, and what we get, it's amazing.

The new NHS website below is very well worth a look. Hospitals are not only listed but evaluated. I certainly know which ones I would go to! At the very least you will know what questions to ask if you are sent to one which has not entered its data. Good luck!

We play to our strengths which is collection and recycling of telephone, computer and other electronic equipment. We've had positive feedback from the majority of our customers where feedback has been given. We can often offer residual value on phone systems which have been looked after and are regularly in the London area. Give us a try today! You wont be disappointed.

Crewe Household Waste and Recycling Centre

Pyms Ln, Crewe CW1 3PJ, UK – 01270 215818

Helpful staff and clear directions given to dispose of old roofing in asbestos skips.

The place has improved immeasurably over the years. It gets crowded at weekends, which is understandable, but as I'm retired, I go midweek. Some staff are helpful, and some are not, but it's the same in any organisation. It's easy to get out once you have finished, the only problems occurring when someone can't park properly. It's well laid out, compared to several years ago, but clearer labelling would be appreciated

Small IT Recycling

40 Mount Pleasant, Crewe CW1 3JF, UK – 0845 689 5001

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Crewe

Pizza Hut

Dunwoody Way, Crewe CW1 3AJ, UK – 01270 253666

Pizza Hut is just Pizza Hut, but this is one of the better run ones I have been to. The staff were friendly and efficient and were willing to take the time to talk to you and explain the menu options. The place was clean, the salad bar was attractive and refreshed regularly and the main meal arrived quickly. Good job.

Always has friendly and fun staff. Food is also always delicious and I have no complaints. Service is excellent and fast.

Bombay Restaurant

33-35 Mill St, Crewe CW2 7AJ, UK – 01270 214861

Not a big one for leaving reviews but we ate in there last night and the food and service was next level. Head and shoulders above most other places. Mixed tandoori was moist and spiced and cooked to absolute perfection. Takeaway has always been equally as good on the two recent occasions we've ordered. A new found gem!

Had the Naga chicken curry.Says it's very hot.Yes it was but tasted fantastic.Not just heat.Spiced to perfection.Service was excellent.Friendly efficient staff.Highly recommended⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Frankie & Bennys

Earle St, Crewe CW1 2RP, UK – 01270 216210

Good food, okay prices with a not-very long wait and helpful staff which can help you in many ways. Good restaurant for a family meal but it is acceptable to dine on your own or with someone else or some friends. The only downside is that sometimes the portions are a little bit too big but that doesn't really matter. The parking area is great as it is right outside and you don't have to pay. Inside is an atmospheric italian-american heaven with wooden walls, stylish writing and great music. The menu is long and jam-packed with lots of items but not very many choices for kids.

It's a nice restaurant with a good atmosphere. I would have given 4 stars but I can't only because of my meal. My partner had the double cheese burger and enjoyed it. My meal was the carbonara having had many carbonara I was disappointed here. The bacon had been fried then stirred in so all the black bits of the grill were incorporated into my pasta. Plus it was pretty tasteless. Staff get 5 stars though

Nursery and Preschools

Haslington Preschool

60 Crewe Rd, Haslington, Crewe CW1 5QZ, UK – 07541 527797

Both my girls love haslington preschool they also love the staff. It is a small space compared to some nursery's but has a lot of home comforts. All the children seem happy to be left there and staff are lovely. You can tell that they love there job. I didn't have any concerns about leaving my daughters there and my daughters didn't have any complaints in fact I think they would have slept there if they could have. They take the children on trips out quite often and take them over to Haslingden primary school weekly, to participate in activities and assemblies to help get them ready for school. Staff encourage children to be independent. Don't have any regrets about sending my girls here. The staff are amazing and very supportive. We couldn't have asked for a better start in schooling.

Both my kids loved this place, it's small but the staff are very good at promoting learning in very young children, a great start to their life at school

Primary and Secondary Schools

Ruskin Community High School

Ruskin Rd, Crewe CW2 7JT, UK – 01270 560514

I went here from 2009 till 2014 and I wouldn't recommend this Secondary school, but it is okay for a standard secondary school. Tge teacher are very supportive and helpful. But some of the teachers have racist agendas. Althought, I'm had some unforgettable memories though never the less.

Floor is very dirty and there are some bullies there too. There are also and gang of smokers around the outside of the school, as well as some inside

Wistaston Church Lane Academy

Crewe CW2 8EZ, UK – 01270 663619
